A site that tries to give only the facts on a subject without all the self serving crap. You may not like what I say, but that's too bad. It's the truth as I see it.

Either the media has deliberately sidestepped the real issue concerning the release of the 1957 Influenza virus, or just does not get the real impact. The virus was sent out in ID panels to labs around the world, as is done every year. The panels that are sent have a number of unknown viral samples, and the labs getting them are supposed to treat the samples just as if they were collected from an infected patient. The lab is to use at least BSL2, or BSL3 precautions (Bio Safety Level), and as...

I just wanted to extend my prayers to the Pope. He was certainly a visionary, and has done much not just for the Catholic faith, but for the world. He certainly was a Pope, a man, for all people, teaching that it is possable for all faiths to live together. He certainly will be missed by all.

I realize I have been posting on the Terri Schiavo issue with a certain amount of bias. This I have to own up to, as I have a strong opinion on this issue. I lost my Mother a few years ago after she fell, and was on life support for six months. After fighting the good fight, she started having problems that we, as a family knew she would not want to live with. So as a family, we made the decision to stop the support, and she passed away days later, quite peacefully, I might add. That said,...

I find myself more and more skeptical on comments made by Terri Schiavo’s parents. A week ago, they are telling everyone who would listen how bad Terri looks, her skin frail, and her lips bleeding. In fact, her brother said he would not allow his parents in to see Terri because of the condition she was in. Then overnight we find out that the 11th Court of Appeals would look at the motion asking for the case to be retried, as well as a TRO, which would allow the tube to be reinserted. Whil...

I take exception to some of the comments made on my prior post. First, I am a very religious person. I go to church on a regular basis, volunteer for several groups, including the local Catholic food bank. I have cooked more food for the homeless than I want to remember. I am not looking for any "atta boys", but know I am anything but a hate monger, especially when religion is involved. But maybe that's the point. I have no problem with anyone standing up for what they believe in. Ev...

The hypocrisy of the “Christian right” is astounding. I am still amazed by the Terri Schiavo case, partly because, as I said, I live within blocks of the Hospice where she is at., and I was never a fan of big Government. However, the on camera remarks made by the religious right, coming right out with threats against the Judges in this case, is unreal. Included in this mob is Pat Robertson, who I never had any respect for anyway, but the nasty remarks, name calling, and threats to use the...

I have to laugh. The other day Terri Schiavo’s father is out in front of the cameras, trying to get people to actually believe him, saying things like” when I told Terri she smiled at me”. At that point, his daughter, Terri’s sister, looks at him and says Really! What did she say? What did she say! The woman has not spoke in 15 years, yet the sister still cannot figure that out. Shows just how often she comes to see her sister, doesn’t it? The father just looked at her with disbelief. I w...

How very strange it is~~ Last week in Texas an infant was allowed to die~actually the law is the Doctor is allowed to pull the tubes out of a patient if they will probably die, and they can't pay. This was signed by then Gov.Bush in 1999. Now fast forward to today~~now you have Gov. Bush-the other one- who want's a bill passed to make it illegal to pull the tubes from anyone that is considered to be in a persistant vegatative state. So the Doctors pull the tubes from a BLACK infant, and ...

This whole Teri Schiavo case just keeps getting better & better. That "horrable" scene outside of the Hospice, when the police took the family away in cuffs, including children. All they wanted to do was give Teri water. What a laugh!! I live down the street from there, and that whole thing was staged to the point the could have used a director. OK, you stand there, then walk to the truck, and I will put the cuffs on you. That is what went on for 20 minutes before they "arrested" them. Yet a...

I would like to know why Pres Bush passed a bill in his home state that allowed the feeding tube to be removed in anyone who could not pay the hospital bill, while he came out at the last second to sign this bill for Teri Shhiavo. That certainly seems close to being very hypocritical. Actually that's not true. last week a hospital in Texas pulled the tube from a black infant because the mother couldn't pay. So he has no problem passing a bill that allows black infants to die because of l...

Does everyone feel warm and fuzzy when they watch that 24 second (give or take) clip of Teri Schiavo? The tracking of the balloon, a few grunts here and there, and what looks kind of like a smile. Did you know that it took 10 hours of prep work, and another four and a half hours of filming in order to get that twenty-something second clip? That's right folks, the parents, mostly the father, would keep waving the balloon in her face, while tapping her forehead, saying "look at the balloon Ter...
